Bringing color to a sketch is the last step of the drawing process, yet the most important one !
In this article, I wanted to share my view on this. Also, you’ll get to see interactive examples how colors can bring a drawing to the next level.
Importance of colors and shades
When making a sketch for a client, I usually like to fix the viewpoint and overall concept with a rough sketch. It is usually only made of plain, black traits and they are sufficient to get a good idea of the design. However, the color is what really brings a drawing to life!
Colors bring the harmony between the objects. Indeed, choosing the right color is an important part of my work. Additionally, the colors help to represent lights, shadows and finally, the spatial shape and position of each object
